PREVIEW: SBL HERR FINALS 1:7

The stage for the Finals is set, as Borås will host Norrköping for the opening game tonight. Norrköping is the defending Champions and is aiming for a 3-peat. In their way stands Borås, the regular season champions and in my eyes, the favorites to win it all and silence the critics for that 2020 Covid-19-banner.

Borås is coming off a long break, that can either be to their advantage or the opposite, as they are either well rested or they have all forgotten their playbook cause of the long break. I saw them live for two games in the Semifinals against Umeå, who they swept to advance to the Finals. And the biggest difference in that series, was the depth of their roster. They can rotate on at least 8 really good players, and when you can insert a fresh and rested Anton Cook of the bench to go up against the other team's second unit it's a huge advantage. And a player not getting his recognition is Andreas Person. He plays smart basketball, comes up with clutch baskets and makes very few mistakes. But the key in the Finals will be Ryan Logan. His passing ability and unselfishness is probably what will be his own defeat for the MVP, because I don't think too many voting fans appreciate that compared to Gustav Hanssons ability to score at will this year. But if you ask Logan, I doubt he will say he rather have the individual award over the title of a Champion.

Norrköping won their semis against a tough Jämtland who almost turned a 1-3 deficit to one of the biggest upsets in SBL history, but Norrköping prevailed in the deciding Game 7, on the road. As two-time defending champions, I think Norrköping is gonna play with much more composure and they know all they need to do, is win one game on the road to steal home court advantage. That's easier said than done, since Borås is undefeated this season at home, and they already feel disrespected for not winning any of the awards yet.

And as the women's finals might end tomorrow, let's hope this goes 7.
