NIKE ZOOM FREAK 4

The fourth model from Giannis' signature line "Freak" is here. And it's just like all the three previous models, low cut and sleek. The oversized Swoosh is still there, the strap is gone but you can tell it's a pair of Freaks no doubt. This week I got to take them for a photoshoot and Soletesting with Storyteller and young phenom Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi. Tunde is half nigerian and played in Greece the last two years, and Giannis is his favorite player so it was fitting that we took the Freak 4 for a test. And while we were shooting, he told me he almost got casted for the part as Giannis in "Rise".

The colorway we got to work with, is called "Cookies & Cream" and it's a nod to Giannis love for Oreos. Not just Oreos, but dunking them in milk. Because when he first got to the NBA, one of the first things he tried, was Oreos. He ate them every day for months, until one day and someone asked him if he tried them with milk. So he dropped them in a glass and his friend said "no, you have to dunk it..." and once he got his dunking in order, his mind was blown away. Ok, back to the soles...

The outsole is just like always when it comes to Freaks, great traction and has the Antetokounmpo's family names spread out. Like I said, the oversized Swoosh is on the panel, and on the inside of the shoe there's a thick stitched Swoosh as well. On the tongue we got the GA logo on one shoe, and on the other there's a compass. Not really sure if there's gonna be different prints on different colorways but maybe. On the heel we got both the GA logo and Freak on each sole.

While Tunde is a much better dunker than myself I let him work the cushioning a bit, and he said he felt bouncy. They always say that, but then he pulled out the Eastbay so yeah, they seems to be bouncy.

I'm excited to see what's next to come from these soles, they're one of the better ones this season for sure.
