NBA FINALS - PART 4
Remember a couple of weeks ago when the debate about the MVP was to Embiid's favor? I think we can all agree that it's not a debate anymore. What Jokic is doing right now it's not really fair. It's not as dominant as Shaq was in the early 2000's but it's somewhat close to it. But in a whole different way. He's just toying with the game right now. That's how I would describe it.
And if you haven't seen Game 3 yet, you could probably figure it out by my intro. Denver won the game, and Jokic had a historic performance. But it wasn't only him. Jamal Murray. Chris Braun. And some leadership from Jeff Green. Yeah, Jeff Green. There was a clip from him sitting on the bench telling his team not to play around just because they were in the lead midway thru the fourth. It might now show in the box scores, but he impacts the series with his leadership. But man, this Jamal Murray kid. He's one helluva player man. It was one drive where he drove to the basket and finished as high on the glass you can, without hitting the shot clock above it, and it fell thru. You can just tell that his confidence is above most right now.
Jokic and Murray both had 30 points triple-doubles, and became the first pair of teammates to record triple doubles in the same Finals game. And Jokic became the first player with a 30-20 triple double. Common man. When you're putting up number that even Wilt never did, you know you're doing something different.
And the rookie out of Kansas coming of an NCAA title in 2022 and a 4.7 ppg regular season erupted for 15 points in Game 3 with a 7-8 shooting night in only 19 minutes. I loved the quotes from Jokic after, that Braun was the key to the victory. Imagine how the 22 year old felt after that complimen
Well, tonight it's time for Game 4, and it's a crucial game for Jimmy Butler and his Heat to defend home court and tie the series 2-2, or it could mos definitely end with Game 5 in Denver.
You think Butler won't show up tonight? I think he's there already.
