STARTING FIVE - NBA JERSEYS

There's always an ongoing debate, who's better or who's in the Top5 and so on. I think I've spent more time arguing about these Barber shop topics than Jeffrey Dahmer was sentenced to spend in prison. And it never gets boring. One time me and some friends went thru every NBA team arguing who their Top5 players of all time is, and when one guy from Minnesota didn't include Doug West in his list, I lost it. Because the year I started to follow the NBA, Doug West was a regular on NBA Action. And even tho I've never liked the T'Wolves besides that short run when Spree was there, I've always wanted a Doug West jersey. So the other day I searched on our website for Timberwolves, and to my surprise we sell Isaiah Riders jersey. I had no idea. I spent some time looking thru our selections of jerseys from Mitchell & Ness, and to not have wasted that time for nothing, I've decided to rank my Top 5 jerseys that are available online.

5. MIKE BIBBY - VANCOUVER GRIZZLIES

When the NBA expanded with two Canadian teams, both came into the league with two of the most best jerseys of all time. Those big prints and vibrant colors almost went out of control, until we realized that's not possible. And since Mike Bibby was one of the Arizona guards to rock foams, he was already a fan favorite. Add the old Vancouver jerseys with his name and you can't go wrong.

4. JALEN ROSE - INDIANA PACERS

Jalen Rose was everything that I thought was cool about the 90's. He was left handed, bald, played fearless and he could pass. He just had that mean muggin' fab five swag. And I never liked the Pacers, but I couldn't dislike Jalen when he got traded from the Nuggets. Golden NBA logo and that 90's model, helluva combo.

3. ALLEN IVERSON - 76ERS

His Rookie jerseys from 1996-97 doesn't need any more explanation than just that. Rookie jersey. Allen Iverson. 'Nuff said.

2. PENNY HARDAWAY - ORLANDO MAGIC (AND PHOENIX SUNS...)

To me, Penny Hardaway is above most. Penny was my hero as a kid. I mimicked everything, even how he throw some random air punches against the camera walking thru the tunnel before the Eastern Conference Finals in '96. Pinstripes means one thing in my world. Orlando Magic. And, there's that 90's Suns jersey too. If you're one of those who like Phoenix that is...

1. LARRY JOHNSON - CHARLOTTE HORNETS

Ok, this one needs it's own post. It's a story for later. But, Larry Johnson is the only one i put above Penny. He was the main reason I fell in love with the NBA. He was so good, he made everyone wear teal n purple. That alone should be enough for the Hall Of Fame. I'm ready to claim, had LJ not hurt his back on Xmas day 1994, he would've been remembered as a top 5 player of the 90's. I'll debate anyone anytime about this, as I've been doing for 30 years now.
